Archiving Policy
Exegesis: Journal of Tafsir and Qur’anic Studies is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. To achieve this, we implement the following archiving strategies:
1. Digital Archiving
All articles published in Exegesis are archived in multiple locations to guarantee continued access, even in the event of website or server failure. These include:
-
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN): For journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, the PKP PN provides free, automated preservation of content.
-
Internet Archive / Wayback Machine: Periodic snapshots of the journal website and published articles are stored via the Internet Archive.
-
Local and Institutional Backups: The publisher, PT Anfana Pustaka Indonesia, maintains secure internal backups of all journal data on local servers and institutional repositories.
2. Self-Archiving by Authors
Authors are encouraged to deposit their published articles in:
-
Institutional repositories
-
Disciplinary repositories
-
Personal websites or academic networking sites (e.g., Academia.edu, ResearchGate)
No embargo is applied. Authors may archive the publisher’s version (PDF) immediately upon publication, with proper citation and link to the original publication.
3. DOI and Persistent Identifiers
Each article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) to ensure persistent and reliable access over time, regardless of changes to the journal’s website or hosting service.
4. Metadata Indexing
The journal ensures that complete metadata for all articles is indexed and made available through:
-
Crossref
-
Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
-
Google Scholar
-
Other academic databases and indexing services
This ensures that all articles remain discoverable and citable long after publication.
